So first and foremost I just want to thank ALL of you for your incredible love and support and prayers. I have been so blown away and beyond blessed to receive your encouragement and love all the way on the other side of the world. So, thanks, big time :)
Wednesday lunches have grown and become such an amazing gift, that we have decided to add in another day...so now it is Wednesday and Saturday! Today was our first Saturday, and the Saturday program is a little bit different, and a lot more fun! We had a serious football game, so serious that I did not jump in because I think my weak skills would have annoyed the very serious players. I did a little Tae Kwon Do sparring with the boys on the sidelines instead. After football and tons of playing we went in to eat, and play some music and dance on our brand new AMAZING drums. The only way I can describe the day is just straight up joyful. Truly.
There have definitely been some pretty major challenges getting all of this up and running, but I feel like I am in a learning crash course which is exactly what I was hoping for in my time here, so in the end I am the most grateful for the trials and super difficult moments, they are where the knowledge lies for sure!
The babies are still the highlight of my days, and Eva is still my heart and soul. She has officially started calling me "mama," and all of the real Mama's refer to me as, "Mama Eva," which I have been trying to squash, because unless she really ends up to be mine, it just doesn't seem fair to her. Me and my Eva are in a mad love affair though, that is for sure! The rest of the little ones are equally as amazing, and I am really starting to worry for my own mental state leaving them in 2 months...
I am losing another soul mate Uganda friend next week, her name is Isabella, and she has brought so much fun and laughter and adventure into my life, I seriously don't know what I will do without her. Iz (that's what I call her) is the most easy going, honest, peaceful and serene, artistic, beautiful soul you could ever come across. She also shares super strong faith and desire to follow Jesus which has been an enormous gift all on its own.
The longer I am here, the more comfortable and at home I feel. The things that were driving me NUTS now have become just mildly annoying, and the things that I loved, I have now become OBSESSED with. The ability to walk out the front door and be of service, I mean REAL service everywhere you go is really an extraordinary experience, I really can't imagine going back to living any other way...
Updates:
John Joshua was arrested last week, and sent to a serious juvenile jail with no time frame at all on when he will get out, if ever. Martin has to go and apply with the government for us to even just visit him, which we are going to get done and see what it will take, (more likely what it will cost) to get him out.
Robert is doing SO WELL! He has been up, and playing, and is even really close to walking which is HUGE. He is also smiling and laughing more often than not, which is the greatest change of all. I know it is in large due to the prayers sent up for him from all of you, no doubt.
